WHY JOIN NASSMC?

The National Alliance of State Science and Mathematics Coalitions (NASSMC) is an umbrella organization for state coalitions of business, education and public policy leaders united for the improvement of mathematics, science, and technology education for all students. NASSMC is a network of state coalitions and serves as the national advocate for the member organizations. NASSMC:

  • helps each coalition to develop a state-specific strategy to improve mathematics, science and technology education;
  • links state coalition leaders to each other and to major national initiatives;
  • serves as the national ears and voice of its member coalitions;
  • provides a national forum for the discussion critical issues relevant to the continuous and systemic improvement of mathematics, science and technology education; and
  • supports timely dissemination of information relevant to the continuous and systemic improvement of mathematics, science and technology education.

 

HOW DO WE APPLY?

The NASSMC coalition membership application is a PDF form so you can either print out the form and fill it in by hand or type directly onto it.  Please mail your membership application and check for $300, payable to NASSMC/UT-Tyler, to: NASSMC, The University of Texas at Tyler, Ingenuity Center, 3900 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75799. HOW DO WE PAY OUR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES?

NASSMC dues are payable on or before January 1 of the calendar year. Annual dues are $300 for each member coalition.  Some member organizations choose to contribute at a higher level to support of NASSMC's extended mission.

Sponsoring members such as corporations, federal and state agencies, foundations and professional organizations will not be voting members of the Delegate Assembly, but will serve in an advisory role to NASSMC. Sponsoring members will pay annual dues of $5,000.

NASSMC Supports Federal Budget Priorities

The NASSMC Board of Directors officially supported a letter developed by the STEM Education Coalition.  The letter addresses appropriations priorities of FY 2013 and was sent to Senate and House Committee members on May 1.  The letter is found here.

 

Annual Membership Dues Needed

Annual coalition membership dues are $300 and run from January 1 through December 31 for each calendar year.  The invoice (PDF form) is available here.  More information is found under the "Get Involved" tab.
